Mrs. Frances Josephine Cox, 75, of Lexington, passed away peacefully at her home on March 2, 2023, surrounded by her family, after battling a prolonged illness. Frances was born in Chattanooga, TN to the late Lester and Marie Roberson. She was a loving wife, mother, nanny, great grandmother, and friend. Frances enjoyed taking care of her many plants and loved her two dogs, Taco and Cricket.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Mr. Jimmy D. Cox of Lexington, SC; daughter, Kathy Chapel of Ridgeway, SC; son, George Chapel (Keyna) of Aiken, SC; daughter, Tiffany Williams (Joshua) of West Columbia, SC; stepson, Russell Cox of Columbia, SC; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel, 609 Northwood Road, Lexington, SC 29072. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
