Reverend Harold Altman, age 83, of Freeport, Florida passed away March 10, 2023.  He was born on January 18, 1940, to Anthony and Claudia Altman in Freeport, Florida. Harold was a great inspiration to many in the community.  He worked for the government in Washington, D.C. at the government printing office.  He was Christian by faith and an ordained minister.  Harold was a great husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Mr. Altman is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Claudia Altman; one son, Harold Michael Altman; and siblings, Lillie Hataway, Frank McCormick, Ina Mae Fannin, Horace McCormick, Harvie Altman, Edith Garcia, and Charley Altman.

He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-four years, Madeline Altman; daughter, Marcia Altman Grandstaff and husband, Robert; son, Kent Altman, Sr. and wife, Denise; sister, Helen Lassitter; grandchildren, Christal Villareal and Manny, Robert D. Grandstaff and Daniella, Joseph T. Grandstaff, Jessica Godwin and Ben, Claudia Robin Carter and Trey, Kent Altman, Jr. and Felisha, Ashley Lyon and Doug, and Matt Tillman; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Black Creek United Methodist Church, 278 Memorial Lane, Freeport, Florida, 32439, beginning at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Richard Helms officiating.  A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Committal services will follow at Black Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Air Force.
