Lula Jane Oakley 95 of Harrison passed away peacefully on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Medilodge of Clare. Lula was born July 10, 1922 in South Lyon, Michigan the daughter of Charles and Pearl (Wilson) Kneale. On October 31, 1942 in White Oak Township, Michigan, Lula was united in marriage to Mr. Orla James Oakley. After forty-eight years of marriage, Mr. Oakley preceded Lula in death in 1990,

Lula had resided in Harrison, Rosebush and Clare, since 2011, moving from Mason, Michigan. Mrs. Oakley loved dogs, not only her own, but family members and friends. She was an avid floral gardener and was known for her knack of growing delicious tomatoes. Reading a good book was a favorite pastime, as Lula could read a book from cover to cover in a short time. Lula enjoyed cooking and baking, getting her weekly manicure and the occasional visit to McDonalds Restaurant for her favorite meal. For many years, Lula sold Avon products to her many customers, family and friends.

Surviving Mrs. Oakley is her loving son, Gary Oakley and wife Mary of Harrison, seven grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, two daughters in law; Karen Oakley of Port Orange, Florida and Pam Oakley of Mason, one brother, James Kneale of South Lyon, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and numerous extended family members. Lula also was preceded in death by her parents, and two sons; Charles Oakley and Clifford Oakley.

A Celebration of Life service honoring Mrs. Oakley will be held at a later date. Memorial gifts in memory of Lula may be considered to MidMichigan Home Care.
