<p>It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ruby Yamamoto (Tanaka) peacefully on Friday, March 3, 2023 at the age of 91 years. </p><p>Ruby is survived by her husband of 67 years, Ken, her 3 children and 7 grandchildren: Amy – Vic Stasiuk, Sheena (David) Holm and Joel (Erica); Vickie – Ken Nakagama, Kendra and Kyle (Kate); and Kerby – Rshmi, Ilisha, Ashaan and Ajay. She also leaves 4 great grandchildren: Sofia and Zoe Stasiuk and Oliver and Emma Holm. She is also survived by her brother Fred (Jane) Tanaka, sister Miwa Shigaki and sisters-in-law May Matsumiya and Lil Tajiri as well as numerous nieces and nephews. </p><p>Ruby worked hard on the family farm for many years as she raised her family. She was a wonderful cook and seamstress. In her retirement years, she enjoyed accompanying Ken to play the machines at Bully’s. </p><p>The family would like to thank the staff of Fairmont Extendicare for their excellent care of Ruby for the past 6 years. </p><p>A private family funeral has been held. Koden and flowers are gratefully declined. If desired, donations may be made to aid in Alzheimers research. </p>March 21, 1931 - March 3, 202303/21/193103/03/2023
