Passed away peacefully on March 9, 2023.

Survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Marge (Ginzel); his children Mike (Kathy), Tom (Pam), Wendy (Jeff) Thames, Greg, Ken (Nancy), and Steve (Laurie) Lerach; grandchildren Mike, Jon and Chris Lerach, Taylor Murray, Robert Whiting and Daniel Lerach; Tyler, Kyle, Erin and Jack Thames; Katey (Dean) Treftz, Brett and Sean Lerach; Krista (Jeff) Ball, Kayla (Justin) Cadotte, Nick Lerach and 12 great-grandchildren.

The only child of Albert and Mae (Smith) Lerach, Gene was born in 1936 in St. Paul. He attended Monroe High School which is where he met Marge. He spent his entire career at US West retiring as an Engineer. He then made the most of his retirement living between Sun City, AZ and his favorite place, the cabin on Turtle Lake in Marcel, MN. Gene was the master of fixing anything sent his way and was always looking for a project to work on. He enjoyed the great outdoors which provided many hobbies, especially fishing and hunting. He loved spending time with his family, including attending many sporting events and other activities for his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a very supportive and generous father who was always willing to lend a hand when needed. He will be deeply missed by his family.

Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Friday, April 14, 2023 at the CHURCH OF ST. PIUS X, 3878 Highland Avenue, WBL. Visitation 90 minutes prior.
