Alexander Asmat-Saka Axdorff Obituary

It is with deep sadness that the Axdorff and Saka families announce the passing of Alex Asmat Saka Axdorff on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.

Alex was born on July 2, 1991. As a child growing up in Rockford, Michigan, Alex was known for being kind, charming, and loving towards his family.

Alex took an interest in athletics, eventually starting as outside linebacker for the Rockford Rams, leading his high school football team to a State Championship in 2009.

He graduated from Rockford High School and subsequently joined the United States Marine Corps. After graduating Marine basic training, Alex continued to work with his father to run Advanced Window Washing in Rockford.

With strong determination, Alex completed his Associates of Arts degree at Grand Rapids Community College in May of 2013. Additionally, he earned his Welding Specialist Certification from the MIAT College of Technology in June of 2020.

While Alex battled personal struggles, Alex will always be remembered for his fighting spirit, his pride in his heritage, his wit and charm, his deep appreciation for his mother, his sense of humor, and his love for his Lord and Savior. He was always the champion of the underdog.

He is survived by his father, Richard Axdorff; his mother, Wajma Saka; his brother, Eric; his niece, Elisabeth; as well as his cousins, extended family, and friends who loved him.
