Phyllis R. Fritz, 80, of Beatrice passed away Friday evening, November 24, 2017. She was born September 26, 1937 at Wymore, was baptized at the Methodist Church and later confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Beatrice. She graduated from Wymore High School and moved to Beatrice in 1955. She worked at Kees Manufacturing for 31 years and then ExMark for six years. She married Joe Fritz on July 25, 1976 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Beatrice. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, DAV Auxiliary and Eagles Auxiliary all of Beatrice and was currently a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church of Beatrice. Survivors include her step-son, Joe Fritz and wife Tori of Phoenix, AZ; one step-grand-daughter, Tereza Fritz; one sister, Marjorie Howe of Beatrice; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Althea Reed Stevens; her husband Joe, who died June 2, 1997; five brothers, Gerald, Donald, Hubert, Ray and Neil Stevens; three sisters, Shirley Kaufman, Joan Grabowski and Patricia Nipko. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice with Pastor Joshua Hillman officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice. A memorial is suggested to the family’s choice. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice from 12:00 noon Thursday until time of service on Saturday. www.foxfuneralhome.net Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
