<p>Normand A. Theroux, 93, of Nashua, NH, a retired Nashua Firefighter, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 4, 2023 surrounded by loving family. </p><p><br></p><p>A lifelong resident of this city, Normand was born on November 10, 1929 to the late Walter Theroux and Stella (Pelletier) Theroux. He graduated from Nashua High School in 1948 and served in the US Navy from 1948 to 1952 serving on the USS Grenadier (SS525).</p><p><br></p><p>Normand began his career with the Nashua Fire Department in 1953 and rose in rank to Deputy-Chief until his retirement in 1980. He also worked at the Nashua Beef Company for a number of years. After his retirement from the Nashua Fire Department, he worked at Lockheed-Sanders.</p><p><br></p><p>He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and camping. One of his favorite pastimes was spending time sitting under his tree sipping a drink with his dog Sapphire.</p><p><br></p><p>Normand is survived by one son, four daughters and their spouses. Paul and Barbara Theroux of Long Beach, CA, Jeanne Theroux of Derry, NH, Therese and Paul Dubowik of Hudson, NH, Lisa and Carl Deitrich of Nashua, NH, and Renee and Frank Stoncius of Litchfield, NH; eight grandchildren, Anthony Dubowik, Timothy Dubowik, Paula Dubowik, Matthew Deitrich, Timothy Deitrich, Bradley Deitrich, Kate Stoncius, Brook Stoncius, and his three great-grandchildren Shelby, Emily, and Whitney Dubowik.</p><p><br></p><p>He is also survived by his wife Nancy Theroux, his step-children, Susan Twardoski, Norman Cailler, Michelle DuVarney, Kathleen Scarpone, Shawn Kelly, Kevin Kelly, Terrance Kelly, and Tracey Kelly.</p><p><br></p><p>Normand is predeceased by his sister Camille Gorham and his brother-in-law Jim Gorham, his step-daughter Mary Ferguson, his great-grand son Jaxson Dubowik and his faithful dog Shamus (aka Sapphire).</p><p><br></p><p>SERVICES: A graveside service will be held at the New Hampshire State Veteran’s Cemetery on March 13, 2023, at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Normand’s name to the Nashua Firemen’s Relief Fund, 70 E. Hollis Street, Nashua, NH 03060.
