CORDIVARI

WILLIAM D. "Bill", SR., age 98, on March 3, 2023 of Rosemont, PA.

Bill was born March 4, 1925 to William A. and Jennie (Panichelli) Cordivari and raised in the Overbrook section of West Philadelphia. He graduated Overbrook HS 1942 and graduated Yale University in 1946 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served as a Lieutenant USMC and USMC (Reserves) from 1946 to 1952. In June 1948, he married the one and only love of his life, Anna Liberi at St. Donato’s RC church in West Philadelphia. Married for 57 years, they raised six children in the home they built in Rosemont where they lived until Anna’s death in 2005, and where Bill lived until 2019 when he moved to West Chester.

Bill began his career at Westinghouse until recalled to active duty at the outbreak of the Korean War. He was an Engineer at Philco which later became Philco-Ford and eventually Ford Electronics in Lansdale, PA. He retired from Ford in 1991.

An excellent athlete, Bill developed a passion for golf as a young man playing mostly at Cobbs Creek GC and then less frequently as the demands of family life called. He rekindled his interest in the game post-retirement and was a regular in the Ford league which was played at Mainland Golf Course in Harleysville. He was always available anytime his sons were teeing it up.

Bill is survived by his sons William, Jr. (Cyndee), Richard (Vicki), Robert (Jennifer), Bruce, and Mark (Kerry Ann,) and daughter Adrienne Basara (Jim), 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, his sister Janet Vigliarolo (Andre), and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his brother George and sister Dolores Cordivari Emanuele.

Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing Thursday Morning, March 9th ALL IN CHURCH, 9:30 – 10:45 a.m., followed by his Funeral Mass 11:00 a.m. at St. John Neumann Church, 380 Highland Ln, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010. Inurnment Private.
