Harvie John Toews
<p>Harvie was born November 30, 1949 in Innisfail, AB. He passed away February 22, 2023 in Edmonton, AB at the age of 73.</p><p><br></p><p>Harvie called many places home including Innisfail, Bowden, Acme, Drumheller and Red Deer.</p><p><br></p><p>He has many friends in the Red Deer Community. He resided there for the past 35 years in 3 different group homes. Harvie was on several committees for the mentally handicapped living in Red Deer and volunteered for many charitable organizations.</p><p><br></p><p>He loved hockey and was a goalkeeper for the Red Deer Vipers hockey team. He was also an avid bowler.</p><p><br></p><p>Harvie is survived by 2 older brothers Gordon (Joanne) of Sundre, AB and Fred (Heather) of Olds, AB.</p><p><br></p><p>He is predeceased by: Parents Solomon of Olds, AB and Ruth of Acme, AB; older Sister Cora of Fort St. John, BC; younger Sister Irma of Faro, YT; and Nephew Rick of Edmonton, AB.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><b>A private Interment Service will be held. </b></p><p><br></p><p>Memorial Donations may be made to <a href="//www.habitatsouthernab.ca/donate-to-beyond-the-build">Habitat for Humanity</a>, the <a href="//kidney.akaraisin.com/ui/generaldonation/donations/start">Kidney Foundation of Canada</a>, or a charity of your choice. </p>Obituary
