Deanie Ross Callahan, 70, of Asheboro, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 17, 2023, at Maple Springs Baptist Church, Seagrove, where he attended, with Pastor Bill Simpson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

A native of Randolph County, Mr. Callahan was born on July 19, 1952, to the late William "Bill" Callahan and Mary Ann Gillispie Callahan. He worked for Lucks Cannery until they closed. He never met a stranger and was a thoughtful person who made sure to check on his friends and spend time with the elderly. He loved talking and laughing with people and listening to music but above all loved his family. Deanie loved to fish and eating fish at Captain Tom's Seafood and Steaks and could eat more peanut butter than anyone.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Callahan was preceded in death by his brother, J.C. Callahan, and sisters, Ilene Marion and Ada Perry.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy Callahan of the home; daughters, Tina Callahan Rouse (Zach) of Asheboro, Amanda Callahan Myles (Daniel) of Campton, NH; sisters, Bonnie McGee of Burlington, Venar Jones of Burlington, Sadie Callahan (Joe) of Durham, Mazie Branson of Burlington; brother, William Callahan of Asheboro; grandchildren, Nathan Luck, Waylon Myles, Clayton Myles; great grandchildren, Jaden Brown, Kayleigh Luck, and Brennan Luck.
