Manchester, Tennessee – Mrs. Linda Lee Winters, age 70, of Manchester, TN, passed from this life on Friday, April 16, 2021, at her residence.


Mrs. Winters was born in Pittsfield, MA, to her late parents George Rathbun Sr. and June Brimmer Rathbun. She was the assistant librarian and cataloger at Coffee County Public Library and was also a published author, including a book about cemeteries in Coffee County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Rathbun, and grandchild, Elizabeth Brawley.


Mrs. Winters is survived by her husband of 33 years, George Winters Sr.; sons, Robert “Paul” Brawley, Jr., George R. Winters, Jr., Robert “Bobby” Michael Winters; daughters, Dawn Ellison, Bobbi “Renaie” Brawley, Stacey (Nathan) Dotson, Nina (Lee) C. Smartt; brothers, George Rathbun Jr. and Bruce William Rathbun; grandchildren, Robert Lee and Jacob Smartt, Savannah and Garrett Ellison, Emma Grace Bennett, Brock Dotson and Brooke Gipson, Christopher Cawthorn (Winters), Michellana Amos Brawley; great grandchildren, Wynnslee Smartt, Lillian and Lucas Dotson.


Family will receive friends on Saturday, April 17, 2021, from 10:00am until 2:00pm at Central Funeral Home in Manchester, TN. Funeral services will be conducted immediately following visitation at 2:00pm in the chapel of Central Funeral Home. Burial will take place on Sunday, April 18, 2021, at 2:00pm at Ebenezer Cemetery in Bryant, Alabama.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Winters’ honor to the Humane Society or the Coffee County Children’s Advocacy Center.
