Roberta Melissa Curtis Rowley

Roberta Melissa Rowley, nee Curtis, of Rolla, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 at the age of 80. She was born in Duke, MO on February 28, 1937 to the late William and Nellie (Easter) Curtis. Roberta was an accomplished blue grass artist in her younger years having produced several popular recordings under her stage name of Missy Curtis. She loved going to church, singing, and the outdoors. She also enjoyed fishing and above all else spending time with her family. She deeply loved all of her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two children, Billy Bunton and Kathy Bunton; five brothers; and one sister. She will be greatly missed by her surviving family which includes six children, Menda Gilbert and husband Scott, of Brumley, MO, Richard Bunton and wife Arlene, of Rolla, Kenny Bunton and wife Sue, of Rolla, Donnie Bunton and wife Debbie, of Vida, MO, Vickie Hicks and husband Michael, of Newport Richie, FL, and Judy Riggs and husband Steve, of Salem, MO; three brothers, Billy Wayne Curtis and wife Ruby, of Duke, MO, Johnny Curtis and wife Darlene, also of Duke, and Jurl Curtis and wife Betty, of Centralia, MO; one sister, Lolita Kohenskey and husband Orval, of Edgar Springs, MO; 23 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other extended family members and dear friends. A funeral service for Roberta Curtis Rowley will be held at 1 pm Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the Null & Son Funeral Home in Rolla. Interment will follow in the Watts Cemetery near Duke. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service Thursday beginning at noon at the funeral home. Online condolences may be offered at this website.
