Paul G. Lange, 92, a resident of Marion from 1980-2020, passed away on February 4, 2023, in Carmel, Indiana, at 92 years of age.  He was born on February 22, 1930, in Paragould, Arkansas.

Paul graduated from St. Louis University in 1952 and married Delva Tentschert on May 30, 1953. He worked in retail management for the J.C. Penney Company for 38 years, retiring from the company in 1990 after serving as store manager in Marion for 10 years.  He was an active member of St. James Lutheran Church, serving as an elder for many years and in congregation leadership.  He loved to sing, participating in the Sons of Harmony barbershop group and in the church choir.  He was committed to community service and was involved in many local organizations and initiatives, particularly Rotary International.  He was a devoted, lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, a season ticket holder of the Indianapolis Colts for over 30 years and spent many summer days unsuccessfully trying to master the game of golf.

Paul was a man of strong faith and great character, who loved the Lord and modeled a life of service to Christ and others.  He will be remembered and missed by the many who met him and, most deeply, by his family.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Delva T. Lange; children, Mark R. (Jill) Lange of Zionsville and Paula C. Lange of Carmel; grandson, Jordan P. (fiancée Elaine Sundberg) Lange of Chicago; granddaughter, Kristin N. (Austin) Graef of San Diego, CA; and sister, Marian (late Don) Piehler of CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Lange.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at St. James Lutheran Church, 1206 N. Miller Ave., Marion, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Paul's life will begin at 12:30 pm with Pastor Fredrick Hearn officiating.  Burial will take place at Our Redeemer Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
