Obituary
Lela A. Eckman, 87, of South Beaver Twp., passed away Friday, February 3, 2023, at Brighton Rehabilitation and Wellness Center.
Born May 14, 1935, in New Brighton, she is the daughter of the late George W. and Gertrude (Graham) Weber. Lela worked for Dr. Nadiga as an LPN and was a private nurse. She was a former Girl Scout Leader and was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Darlington where she was an Elder and a member of the choir. She was also on the Board of Directors at Seceder Cemetery and loved her dogs, Angel, Diesel, and Gunner.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph L. Eckman; son, Ralph L. Eckman; seven siblings, Gertrude Rader, Mary Jane Carbone, Evelyn Byers, Thomas and James Weber, Jeanne Murray, and George; granddaughter, Julia Eckman; great grandson, Elliot Eckman.
Surviving is her children; Mark (Elizabeth) Eckman, New Sewickley, Jeanne Hardy, Portersville, grandchildren; Jeremy (Amanda) Eckman, Jeffrey (Ashley) Eckman Joshua Hardy, Cody (Naomi) Hardy, Bradley (Sydney) Eckman, Leeanna (William) Norman; great grandchildren, Ronald “Boog” McChesney, Mariah McChesney, Colten Hardy, Addison Hardy, Lucas Eckman, Holden Eckman, Hayden, Araiah, Katarina, and Deegan Vincer; brother, William Weber; sister-n-law, Carol Eckman; several nieces, nephews and their families; a good friend, Iris Hoylman.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the First United Presbyterian Church, Darlington. Pastor, Timothy Casey, of Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Interment will follow at Seceder Cemetery, Darlington.
