RAYMOND KABATA

<p>Raymond Kabata, 68, passed away on Friday, February 3rd, 2023 at home, after a long fought and&nbsp;courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. </p><p>A lifelong resident of Shickshinny, he was the son of the late Stanley and Stefania (Stempien) Kabata,&nbsp;and a graduate of Lake-Lehman High School. Ray operated the family farm his entire life, along with&nbsp;founding and managing Kabata Transportation, providing school bus services to the Northwest Area&nbsp;School District. Aside from farming, Ray enjoyed hunting and playing cards. He especially loved rides in&nbsp;his truck to go “look at the corn."&nbsp; </p><p>Ray and his family would like to thank Dr. Ratliff in the Neurology Movement Division from Thomas&nbsp;Jefferson University Hospital for the superior level of care provided during his battle with Parkinson’s&nbsp;Disease. His knowledge, professionalism, and attention to detail helped Ray navigate through many of&nbsp;his tribulations while combatting the progression of his disease. </p><p>Ray and his family have an immense debt of gratitude to “Ray’s Ladies," Sandi, Heidi, Jean, Lydia, and&nbsp;Steph for the outstanding level of care provided to Ray during the development of his disease, and in&nbsp;the final months of its advancement. Their expert level of care, compassion, and ability to make Ray&nbsp;smile are the reasons Ray’s tenure at home was full of comfort. </p><p>In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Kabata, and sister, Linda&nbsp;Dluzeski. </p><p>Surviving Ray is his brother, Stanley, and his wife, Katherine, of Hughesville, his sons Raymond and his&nbsp;wife, Sarah, Hunlock Creek, Jason and his wife Tara, of Shickshinny, their mother Marline, honorary son&nbsp;Joshua Jones, and his wife Courtney, Hunlock Creek, along with four granddaughters, nieces and&nbsp;nephews. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 7:30 pm from the&nbsp;Piatt Funeral and Cremation, 6 Sunset Lake Road, Hunlock Creek. </p><p>​Visitation will be&nbsp;held on Thursday, February 9, 2023&nbsp;and Friday, February 10, 2023 from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm at the funeral home.&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; </p>

Obituary

Raymond Kabata, 68, passed away on Friday, February 3rd, 2023 at home, after a long fought and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

A lifelong resident of Shickshinny, he was the son of the late Stanley and Stefania (Stempien) Kabata, and a graduate of Lake-Lehman High School. Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 7:30 pm from the Piatt Funeral and Cremation, 6 Sunset Lake Road, Hunlock Creek.

​Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2023 and Friday, February 10, 2023 from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm at the funeral home.
