Gloria Kirkpatrick Obituary
Gloria J. Kirkpatrick peacefully passed on January 27, 2023, from complications brought on by Parkinson’s disease.
Sports was a passion of Gloria’s from playing and teaching tennis to cheering on favorite professional teams – the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. The ultimate expression of this passion was cheering and charting games for her grandchildren’s youth and school softball and baseball teams.
Most of her working life was spent helping tennis enthusiasts and members at Kiest Tennis Center, Oak Cliff Country Club and Brook Hollow Golf Club across 48 years from 1972 to 2020. Prior to working in sports-hospitality she both substitute taught in the Dallas Independent School District and tutored high school math.
Gloria is survived by her husband Larry Kirkpatrick of Duncanville, son David Kirkpatrick of Dallas, daughter D’Ann Kirkpatrick Gregory of Duncanville, grandchildren Scout and husband Jacob Hardgrove of Yuma, Arizona, and Slade Gregory of Duncanville, and great-granddaughter Ryan Hardgrove of Yuma. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jackie McCann, and her father, Mac McCann.
