Helen (Irwin) Shay of Dunedin died peacefully, after a long battle with Dementia, on January 28, 2023. She was a warrior when it came to giving into her health issues. Helen was born in July of 1929 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late George and Jean Gunn.

Helen graduated from Upper Darby High School, in Upper Darby, PA in 1947 and worked as a bookkeeper for W.A. Clark for several years before raising a family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, John “Chick” Irwin, second husband Fred Shay and sister Jean Gunn.

Helen is survived by her two sons, John (Lori) Irwin of Atlanta, GA and George (Tammy) Irwin of Oldsmar, FL., four grandchildren and a great grandson.
