Carole Mae Starks Obituary

Carole Mae Starks

Carole Mae Starks, age 83, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2023 in St. George, Utah. She was born on June, 13 1939, in Beaver Utah to Lola Mae Marquardson & Cecil Wright, then later gained Phil Roberts as her forever step-father.

She met and married the love of her life, Lyle Starks, on January 18, 1958.  Shortly after her first born son, Jeffrey was born, soon after, they had 4 more children together. Carole loved being a homemaker, it was one of her many talents she felt proud of. She often was at home alone raising children, and maintaining a household while her husband was away serving in the War. They eventually relocated to Scenic, AZ later on in life where Carole and her husband had the opportunity of  raising two grandchildren, who she loved and cared for dearly. She was an avid crocheter, and enjoyed making slippers, blankets, beanies, doilies, and anything she could create with her hands for all of her loved ones, and friends. One of her greatest talents was her cooking, she enjoyed baking and cooking homemade meals for her husband, up until she couldn’t, whether it was canning, or trying new recipes, her meals were always delicious.  She worked at El Rancho Market, in the early 2000’s in Mesquite, NV where she made countless friends, and enjoyed all of her visits with Relief Society ladies throughout  her life, and sharing her many talents with all her knew her. She was very compassionate, and motivated by any opportunity to improve her skills in anyway. Spending time with her husband was one of her greatest joys.

Carole is survived by her husband, Lyle L Starks (Scenic, AZ); sons Jeffrey Starks (Scenic Az), Ronald Starks (Coco Beach Florida), Rodney Joy Starks (Walla Walla, Washington),  Leonard Dana Starks (Flagstaff, AZ) and her sister Kaye Kelsey (Minnersville, Utah), numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her parents Cecil Wright, and mother Lola Marquardson; step-father, Phil Roberts; in-laws, L.J Starks, and Bertha Beatrice Starks; brother-in-law Bill Kelsey; daughter-in-law, Patty Starks; her siblings; and daughter, Carole Anne Stuart.
