Midge White Carver, age 88, of Old Fort went to be with the Lord Friday, January 27, 2023, at Givens Highland Farms.

Midge was born May 9, 1934, in McDowell County, NC to the late Hicks and Pearl Padgett White. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, George “Edward” Carver; her son, Roger Carver; and seven siblings.

Midge was a member of the First Baptist Church of Old Fort where she attended before her decline in health. She was an avid gardener and cook and she enjoyed feeding the birds. Midge was very family oriented, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. She will be greatly missed.

Left behind to cherish Midge’s memory are one son, Gary Carver (Carol) of Old Fort; two grandsons, Ben Carver (Misty) of Granite Falls and Doug Carver (Ashley) of Old Fort; four precious great-grandchildren, Makayla Wilkins (Daniel), D.J. Carver, Olivia Carver, and Ian Carver; one great-great granddaughter, Ellie Wilkins, due to arrive in April; and one brother, Hershel White (Agnes) of Old Fort.

A graveside service to celebrate Midge’s life will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, January 30, 2023, at Cherry Springs Memorial Park with Dr. George Ellis officiating.
