<p>Mr. James Leonard Thrift, 70, passed away Tuesday (January 24, 2023) at UF Health in Jacksonville, FL following a short illness.</p><p><br></p><p>He was born in Waycross, GA to the late Floyd M. Thrift and Naomi Strickland Thrift. He retired from CSX Transportation as a maintenance supervisor. He also served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Lake Como Chapter of the Eagles.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by five siblings, Patricia Ann Lairsey, Blue Thrift, Frank Thrift, Leon Henry Thrift, and Carroll Evans “Shorty” Thrift.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his wife, Debra Thrift of Crescent City, FL; a daughter, Brandi Thrift of</p><p>Crescent City, FL; a son, Rhett McCamey of Palatka, FL; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; five siblings, Linda Sellers (Randy) of Waycross, Rheba Holton of Townsend, GA, Wayne H. “Bud” Thrift of Waycross, George M. Thrift (Connie) of Waycross, and Tommy Thrift (Linda) of Hahira, GA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.</p><p><br></p><p>A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. (January 28, 2023) at High Bluff Cemetery.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
