Obituary

        Chief Master Sergeant Carzell Graham, Sr. received his angel’s wings on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at the Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins, Georgia in the presence of his beloved family.

        Carzell was born on July 3, 1958 in Early County, Georgia and was the youngest child of the late Mr. Verdell Graham and Mrs. Vera Mae Graham. He was educated in the public school system of Early County.  It was in the school system that he met the person that would become the North Star of his life, his wife Juanita Stamper. He grew up on North Church Street under the watchful eyes of the entire village (North Church Street and North Avenue). He was blessed to have people around him who nurtured his growth as a young man. In this environment he learned the value of education, hard work, self-respect, respect of others, loyalty, and an appreciation for the value of family and friends. The home and neighborhood that he grew up in made sure that he had a Christian foundation.  Church attendance and participation in church related activities were emphasized. He was baptized at Zion Hope Freewill Baptist Church and later joined St. John Freewill Baptist Church (Sandy Bottom) where he held membership at the time of his untimely death.

Upon graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force.  Once he completed basic training his enlistment took him to places all over the world; including Texas, England, Virginia, South Korea, the Middle East, Africa, Florida and Georgia. In 2006, he retired with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant after thirty(30) years of honorable service.

In 1981, he married his childhood sweetheart, Juanita Stamper. They were happy couple as they headed off to see the world. In 1981, they added their son Carzell Graham, Jr. to the family and in 1984 they added their daughter Natasha to complete their family. Their lives revolved around not only their children but the children of family and friends. Carzell and Juanita were delighted to become the grandparents to their grandsons Carzell Amary and Damarqus Lamar and their bonus granddaughter Ayanna.  Once he retired, they settled in Warner Robins, Georgia. Carzell was never one to remain idle, so soon after retirement, he gained employment at Robins Air Force Base. They enjoyed retirement; traveling, going to football games, and spending time with family and friends. He got to indulge in his favorite hobby-working on cars.  He lived a full life,

He leaves a legacy of love to his wife of forty-one years, Juanita; his son, Carzell, Jr. and the apple of his eye, his daughter, Natasha. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Amary and Ayanna.

His earthly presence and wonderful personality will be missed by his siblings, Hilda Tinson, Johnnie Graham, and Verdell Graham Jr.(Shirley). He was loved by his extended family of brothers and sister in-laws and in love. He leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and classmates in the ECHS class of 1976. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gerald Tinson and his grandson Damarqus Lamar Graham.

He has now joined that great cloud of witnesses and has returned to the ancestors who have gone on before him.
