<p>It is with great sadness that we announce our Mom and Granny, Geraldine</p><p>Joy King, passed from this Earth on January 25, 2023 in her home in Morris,</p><p>Oklahoma at 89 years old.</p><p><br></p><p>Granny was born on April 7, 1933 to Cecil and Mary Truitt in Tahlequah,</p><p>Oklahoma. She was raised there along with her 7 brothers and sisters.</p><p>She met the love of her life, Jack King, and was married on June 25, 1953.</p><p>Together they raised 10 children in Morris, OK. 3 of whom, Calvin, Peggy, and</p><p>Jackie preceded her in death along with her husband. She is survived by her</p><p>remaining children-Joyce and David Anderson, Joe King, Robert King, Ray and</p><p>Sheila King, Sarah Byerly, Carolyn and Sandy Jacobs, Linda and Joe Metzel.</p><p>While we would love to list all of her grand, great-grand, and great-great-grandchildren by name but there is simply not enough space here to do that as</p><p>there are over 65 and counting. Even though there were so many, it never stopped</p><p>Granny from rocking every single one of them as babies.</p><p><br></p><p>She worked in the Morris School Cafeteria for over 25 years before she</p><p>retired in 1995. All the kids she served also knew her as Granny or The Lunch</p><p>Lady. Our Mom and Granny loved big and had room in her heart for every child</p><p>she met.</p><p><br></p><p>She truly was a mother created by God for the love, compassion, and</p><p>strength she showed through tragedy as well as through triumphs. She has</p><p>taught us and everyone around her what it means to live by faith and love like</p><p>Jesus. We will miss her dearly</p><p><br></p><p>A visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Schaudt Okmulgee Chapel on Monday, January 30, 2023. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Morris, 520 S 2nd Street, Morris, Oklahoma with a graveside service to follow at the Morris Cemetery. </p><p><br></p><p> Arrangements are entrusted to Schaudt Okmulgee Funeral Service.
