<p>Harry Milton Thomas, 82, lifelong resident of Oconee County, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023. </p><p>Mr. Thomas was a devoted Christian and a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was born on November 9, 1940 to the late Shannon Hallmark and Edith Parsons Thomas. He graduated from Oconee County High School in 1958. Following his graduation, he joined the United States Air Force where he faithfully served until 1962. Mr. Thomas owned&nbsp;&nbsp;Downtown Chrysler-Plymouth in Athens and also worked for Ivy-Coile Motors and Barrett Dodge in the late 1980’s. In addition to his career in the automotive industry, he also owned and operated a small cattle farm from the 1960’s until the time of his passing and he served on the Oconee County Board of Education for &nbsp;30 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Thomas. </p><p>Survivors include his wife of almost 64 years, Reta Sims Thomas; daughters, Melissa “Missy” Peters (Juan), Harriann Ayers, Rhetta Young and Alice Tiner (John); siblings, Alan Thomas (Ann) and Janet Decker (Billy) and grandchildren, Josh Pennino (Skye), Jeremiah Peters (Kristen), Vanessa Garcia, Drew Baird, Ty Young, Kelly Tiner and Mason Tiner.&nbsp; </p><p>Graveside services for Mr. Thomas will be&nbsp;Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 1:00 pm&nbsp;at Union Christian Church Cemetery.
