It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joshua Kolstad, a beloved son, brother, nephew, and friend on January 14, 2023. Joshua, known to his loved ones as Josh, was born on November 6, 2001 and a student at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, where he was working toward a bachelor’s degree in business supply chain economics.

He was an avid sports enthusiast, participating in baseball, football, tae kwon do, basketball, running, and the swim and dive team during his high school years. He also loved hanging out with friends and playing video games.

Josh’s sense of humor and warm smile will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was a friend to many and a light in the lives of those around him. Josh was a kind and compassionate person, always putting the needs of others before his own.

He is survived by his sister Sydney; his parents, Rick and Kristin (Mantel) Kolstad; and his grandparents, David and Rose Kolstad of Fond du Lac and Michael and Terry Mantel of Hubertus. He is survived further by aunts and uncles Brian and Mel Kolstad of Fond du Lac; Steven and Hanna Mantel of Neenah; Andy and Kelly Mantel of Eagle River; and cousins Maggie and Emma Mantel.

In these difficult times, we ask that you spend your time and energy on the people who matter in your life. Make the time to connect in person, ask how they are doing, have deep conversations, let them know you care and are there for them, and give hugs.

A Celebration of Life service will be planned for a later date.
