Ida Bell King was born on April 1, 1933 in Blackton, Arkansas  to the union of Arthur and Rosie Fox.

She was united in marriage to George W King Sr on January 5, 1950 and to this union three sons were born: George W King Jr, Steven J King and Stanley B King

Ida Bell accepted Christ at a young age and was member or True Vine Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a senior usher and later as a mother on the mother board. She was loved by all who met her.  She was employed with the former Holiday Inn in downtown KC for many years. After retiring she spent the majority of her time babysitting her grandkids, nieces, nephews and kids of friends. She will truly be missed.

Mother King was preceded in death by both parents, her husband, youngest son Stanley B. King, four brothers; Arthur Fox Jr, William Fox, Roosevelt Fox and Danny Mosby, four sisters; Dorothy Allen, Rosie Washington, Nancy Butler, Georgia Mosby and Jelean Shelton.

Ida “Mother” King departed this life on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at the Timberlake Care Center.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories her two sons, George W King, Jr (Erma) and Steven G King both of Kansas City, Missouri.  Six grandchildren; Damon L King Sr (Pam), Desiree Clark (Maurice) of KCMO, Winston E King of Atlanta, GA Rachel B.S. King of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Jarrell M King and Marcus Robertson of Kansas City, Missouri, four great grandchildren, Brittany Woodard (Daniel Sr) of Raytown, Missouri, Damon L King Jr, Tyren Clark and Jordan King of Kansas City, Missouri. Three great grandchildren; Daniel Woods Jr, Samauri Woodard and Ziare Woodard of Raytown, Missouri. She also leaves a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 4, 2023, 11:00am at True Vine MBC. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9am-11am at the church. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
