South Berwick, ME – Nancy Faith (Freeman) Brown graduated to new life in heaven on December 31, 2022.

She was born January 8, 1946 in Gloucester, Massachusetts and graduated from Prairie Bible Institute High School in Three Hills, Alberta, Canada in 1964, then continued her education, graduating from Cedarville University in Ohio with a bachelor’s degree in 1969.

After teaching 5th grade for two years in Litchfield, Maine she married the love of her life, Bruce Loren Brown of Corinna, Maine. They had a son, Stephen, who died of primary schlerosing cholangitis in 2007. In the meantime, she was employed at the D’Adamo Institute in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where she became an administrative assistant for over 20 years.

Nancy served as a loving wife and mother. Also, from the time her husband became pastor of The Bible Speaks Church in South Berwick, Maine in 1976 she served as a pastor’s wife. These were wonderful years of teaching ladies’ Bible studies, international travel visiting missionaries, singing, writing and directing church musicals and helping her husband in the church. Her husband says he knew her as “Nancy with the smiling face” who was always energetic and brought joy and laughter into every place she went. As a lyric soprano, her beautiful, trained voice touched many as she would sing and minister unto the Lord.

Members of her family include her husband, Bruce Loren Brown of South Berwick; her brother, Stephen Freeman of Pennsylvania, another brother, Joel Freeman of Maryland and a sister, Beth (Freeman) Hankinson of Vancouver, British Columbia.

A Celebration of Nancy’s life will be Saturday February 11, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at The Bible Speaks (gymnasium), 26 Paul St., South Berwick, ME 03908.
