<p>Philip Hughes Martin</p><p>Philip Hughes Martin, 76,&nbsp;of&nbsp;Roanoke, Virginia passed away Tuesday&nbsp;January 24th, 2023.&nbsp; Phil was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be missed immensely by those who knew and loved him.</p><p>Phil was born to Charlie and Bessie Martin on March 2nd, 1946.&nbsp;He&nbsp;graduated from&nbsp;Fieldale High School&nbsp;in 1964 and later, Lynchburg College. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Donna Stegall Martin and his daughter, Erin Martin, both of Roanoke.&nbsp; Phil also leaves behind two brothers, Don Martin (Gracy) and Gary Martin, two grandchildren, Elliot (14) and Reagan (12) as well as many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.&nbsp; Phil&nbsp;is preceded in death by his son, Todd, his parents, and brother Mike.</p><p>There was nothing that Phil loved more than spending time with family and friends.&nbsp; He loved to fish, golf, play pool, tell stories, and make people laugh. He was happiest around water and sunshine, spending many of his days near an ocean, a lake, or stream.&nbsp; He also enjoyed learning about history, particularly the Civil War era, and sharing countless stories of growing up with his brothers and friends in his hometown of Fieldale, Virginia.&nbsp; Phil had an enormous heart and loved his family and friends immeasurably. &nbsp;</p><p>The family will receive visitors on Saturday January 28th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Oakey’s South Chapel in Roanoke. &nbsp;Memorial contributions can be made in Phil’s name to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (https://fundraise.givesmart.com/vf/PFFTribute/PhilipMartin).</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p>

Philip Hughes Martin

Philip Hughes Martin, 76, of Roanoke, Virginia passed away Tuesday January 24th, 2023.  Phil was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be missed immensely by those who knew and loved him.
