Dorothy “Betty” Vigil, 81, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, joined the love of her life on January 21, 2023, at the Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo. She was born on July 5, 1941 in Staunton, Illinois to Harvey & Dorothy (Tallada) Mitchell.

She loved sewing, crafts and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Cathleen (Richard) Rapue of Ordway; Joseph P.W. (Grace) Vigil of Pueblo West; Rebecca S. Vigil of Ordway; Chris (Frank) Spye of Ordway; Denise (Leroy) Fierro of Ordway; Ryan Vigil of Phoenix, AZ; Chantelle (Nick) Dempsey of Colorado Springs; Vincent (Desiree) Vigil of Colorado Springs; 26 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren; siblings, Nelda Ashauer, Verla Tidwell, Helena Leckenby, Harry Mitchell, Clinton Mitchell, Thom Mitchell, Dale Mitchell; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joseph Phillip Wilfred Vigil, Sr., two brothers and five sisters.

A funeral service will be Monday, January 30, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at the River of Life Fellowship in Ordway with Pastor Jeb Brown officiating. Interment will follow at the Olney Springs Cemetery.
