<p>Anita Valet, 78, of Muscatine, IA, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. </p><p><br></p><p>Anita was born on June 11, 1944, in Racine, WI, to Catarino and Lupe Segura. Anita served in the U.S. Army for eight years. </p><p><br></p><p>Graveside services will be held at a later date at Fort Sam Houston, TX. Memorials may be sent to a charity of your choice in Anita's name.</p><p><br></p><p>Anita enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling through all 48 continental states, going on ocean cruises with friends, visiting several foreign countries and several Canadian providences. Still, her favorite trips were to the Vatican and Paris.</p><p><br></p><p>Anita also had a love for the Mississippi River. She enjoyed fishing with John day and night and enjoyed years of river adventures with family and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>Those mourning her passing are her husband, John; brother Catarino Jr. (Rosemary) Segura of San Jose, CA; brothers-in-law Jerry Valet and Dennis Valet of Kansas City, MO, and Dick (Cathy) Valet of Wilton, IA; sister-in-law Linda (Hal) Staley of West Liberty, IA, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.</p><p><br></p><p>She was preceded in death by her parents.</p><p><br></p><p>Family and friends are invited to share memories and express condolences on her Memory Page.</p>
