Norma Jean Miles (Rehmel) of Jackson went to be with the Lord on January 21, 2023. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Ray H. Miles, brothers Charles “Bud” Rehmel, Gerald “Gary” Rehmel and sister-in-law Kathleen Pletcher (Miles). She is survived by her three children, Charles Miles, William (Karen) Miles and John (Kathy) Miles. Twelve grandchildren, Ten great-grandchildren, sister Cherie Rehmel, special niece, and nephew Teresa Pletcher Palmer and Lee Rehmel. Norma was born in Lewis Indiana to Charles & Mildred (Waldon) Rehmel on August 23, 1936. After graduating from New Troy High School, she enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps at Paris Island South Carolina. After discharge Norma attended South Bend College of Commerce. Ray and Norma married on November 30th 1957 and moved to Jackson and raise their family. Norma took pride in her work at Jackson’s Win Schuler’s Restaurant for many years. She was a dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church where she enjoyed teaching catechism class after retirement. Norma enjoyed music, dancing, and gardening and took pride in her rose bushes each summer. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, January 27, 2023 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Michigan Center, with visitation from 10 A.M. until the time of service. Fr. Satheeh Alphonse will officiate. The family would like to thank the staff of Faith Haven Senior Centre and Heart to Heart Hospice for their passionate care for Norma. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Fatima, 913 Napoleon Road, Michigan Center, MI 49254 which will be designated toward their religious education program in memory Norma.
