Rozalea (Smith) Wade

<p>Rozalea Smith Wade went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.<br></p><p><br></p><p>She was born December 8, 1932 to Jack and Clida Smith in Perrin, Texas.</p><p><br></p><p>She graduated from Birdville High School on May 31, 1951. Rozalea was the captain of her basketball team in high school and was on the softball team. After high school she went to comptometer school where she graduated. She worked in downtown Fort Worth as a comptometer operator.</p><p><br></p><p>She married Jimmy Grant Wade on November 30, 1962. Together, they built their home in Willow Park, Texas where they lived their entire life together, and raised two wonderful daughters. She was a faithful Christian and member of South Main Church of Christ in Weatherford, Texas.</p><p><br></p><p>She was a rural route carrier for the United States Postal Service retiring from there after many years of service. After retirement, she continued to stay busy helping with her daughter, Jackie, with her business and staying active in her grandchildren’s lives.</p><p><br></p><p>Rozalea was a great friend and neighbor to many. She was genuine, a servant, and always put others' needs before her own. She was loved by all who knew her. Most important to her was her family. Rozalea was the best mom, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt anyone could ask for. She enjoyed attending as many of her grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s events as she was physically able to attend.</p><p><br></p><p>Rozalea was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Wade. She was also preceded in death by her parents Jack and Clida Smith and brother and sister-in-law Don and LaJuan Smith. She is survived by her daughters Rozmary Byars and her husband Matt of Aledo; and Jackie Hayslip of Weatherford. Her grandchildren Terrajaine Kendrick and her husband Chris of Weatherford, Tye Byars and his wife Allie of Abilene, Payton Byars of Stephenville and Claire Byars of Aledo, and 3 great-grandchildren Talin, Colton and Dawson.</p><p><br></p><p>A visitation for Rozalea will be held Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Galbreaith Pickard Hilltop Chapel, 4941 Interstate 20 Frontage Rd., Willow Park, Texas. The funeral service will occur Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Galbreaith Pickard, 4941 Interstate 20 Frontage Rd., Willow Park, Texas. Graveside service following at Perrin Cemetery in Perrin, Texas.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pythian Home in Weatherford, Texas.</p>

Rozalea Smith Wade went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.


She was born December 8, 1932 to Jack and Clida Smith in Perrin, Texas.
