Jimmie E. Hickman, 88, passed away January 23, 2023, at his home in Battle Creek. He was born November 6, 1934, in Mishawaka to Marvin & Rosa (Ford) Hickman.
He was preceded by his parents, first wife, Marsha Hickman, second wife, Mary Phyllis Hickman, 6 siblings, Clemylou, Robert “Ed”, Ronald, Rusty, Marcie, and Oveda “Veda”.
Surviving are 4 children, Sheila Hickman-Wagner, Betty B. Hickman-Strong, Sheri (Albert) Hickman-Hines, and Jimmie Hickman Jr., grandchildren, Anthony, Heather, Billy, Lyric, Landon, Ashley, and Bow. Also surviving 14 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Barbara Reynolds.
Jimmie was a U.S. Navy and U.S. Army Veteran retiring as a Sargent, after over 21 years of service and then worked at a Teamster for over 20 years. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, puzzles, was very mechanically inclined, also watched NASCAR, Westerns, and boxing. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Per his wishes cremation will take place and a celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Battle Creek VA Medical Center Community Living Center.
