Patricia Taske Gilligan Obituary

Patricia Ann Taske Gilligan, born May 8th, 1935 to William & Margaret Taske, died January 20, 2023 at age 87.

Pat was formerly of Cincinnati, Ohio where she attended Regina High School. She and her husband, John, moved to Louisville in 1979 and were longtime members of Hurstbourne Country Club. She played golf, was an avid bowler, and loved to play bridge! Pat had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel. She went on an African safari and even walked the Sydney Harbor Bridge in her late 70’s, to the amazement of her friends and family! She won the hearts of all her children’s and grandchildren’s friends. Pat never knew a stranger, everyone who met her was instantly a friend for life. She was a devout catholic who lived her faith in word and action. She always put family first, her dedication and love built the foundation and friendship among her children and grandchildren. She instilled a tradition of weekly Sunday night dinners at “Mema's" and vacationing in Charlevoix, Michigan.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: John, Mike (Susan), Peggy Corley (Dennis), and Brian (Rebecca). Grandchildren: Chris Corley (Emily), Megan Donnelly (Ryan), Allison Richardson (Will), Sarah Corley (Ryan), Brendan Corley, Abby Datz (James), Michael Gilligan (Kaitlyn), Molly Gilligan, Owen Gilligan, Andrew Gilligan, Connor, Jack, Kyle, and Erin Gilligan; as well as 2 great-grandchildren: Teddy Corley and AJ Donnelly; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, son Tim; and two sisters, Betty McErlane and Margaret Halloran.
