Randolph “Randy” Bryant Obituary

Randolph “Randy” Bryant was born December 2, 1947 in Westmoreland County to the late Elizabeth and Thomas Bryant.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Colonial Beach, VA.  He attended Westmoreland County Public Schools.  He joined the U.S. Army in 1966 and fought for our country in the Vietnam War.

Randy was loved by many, as a son, brother, friend, father, grandfather (the list goes on) and the Patriarch of his family. He was the glue, caring for and loving his children making sure they felt his love. He was the embodiment of a family man, the old school kind, one of the best of them.

His hobbies included traveling, working out, and was an avid book reader.  He LOVED his Country Music and his western movies.  His two favorite songs were “Follow Me” by Uncle Kracker and “Tonight’s the Night” by Rod Stewart.  He was always there for his family every step of the way to help supply their every need.  He was a dear friend, mentor, source of light, joy and strength to his family.  One would say that he had an affectionate smile and was always dressed to impress.

He transitioned to eternal life Monday, January 23, 2023, joining his parents; sisters: Colleen Johnson, Shirley Martinez, and Pauline Smith.  Brothers: Lawrence Bryant, Thomas Johnson (Selena), and Richard Bryant.  Brother-in-law, Franklin Jett. Daughter, Kim Gooden. Grandson, Elijah “Buck” Ball IV. Great-granddaughter, Autumn Kelly.

Loving memories of Randy will continue to live on in the hearts of his surviving family.  Four daughters: Filicia Pierce (Elijah), Bridget Bryant of Fredericksburg, Eukia Bryant of Columbus, Ohio, Trina Gray (Michael) of Fredericksburg.  Sisters: Edith Jett, Anita Triplett (Claude) of King George, Mary Beverly (William) of Brookneal, VA.  Brother-in-law, Floyd Smith of King George.  Ten grandchildren: Davona (Zachary), Jamal, Crystal, Tianna, Jimmy, Toloria, Michael Jr., LaKeshia, Kandis, and Reginald.  Fourteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Randy touched the lives of many.  The life he built will be GREATLY missed and remembered with respect and love by the people who knew him.

Randolph Byrant departed this life on Monday, January 23 at the Washington Hospital Center.
