Evelyn C. Holt of Portsmouth, Virginia peacefully transitioned on January 19, 2023 at the age of 72.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 20+years Willie “Bill Cody” Holt Sr. in August 2021, also by both parents Robert and Addie Bell, and brother Harry Bell.

Known to most as “Ms.Stink”, her kind, loving, and giving spirit will be greatly missed. She was an amazing mother, grandmother & great-grandmother. A supportive sister, aunt, friend and confidant. Ms. Stink was a treasure in her community.

She is survived by three siblings Robert Bell, Hazel Bell, and Katherine Wright. She leaves to carry her legacy of kindness for her two daughters Kenya Brevard (Michael), and Latoya Austin (Mario), and 1 son Shaun Brevard.

She was blessed to become a stepmother to Ma’Lisa Edwards (Ray), Lakisha King (Miquel), Willie Haywood Holt Jr, and Corey DeAngelo Holt whom she held near and dear to her heart.

She leaves her imprint on her grandchildren

Tre’Quan Brevard, Tre’Kia Brevard, Demeko Austin, Asia Austin, Jia Brevard- White, Lashawn Maddray, James Powell, and Sevyn Brevard along with her great-grandchildren Kaden Brevard, Kari Brevard, Kamryn Phillips, Tyionna Rodgers, Jade Brevard-White, Ariel Austin, and her most recent joy , Jaylen Brevard-White. Her love for them was unmatched.

Memories and stories about “Ms.Stink” will rest on the hearts and minds of a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends that she leaves to journey through this thing called “life”.
