<p>GOHM, Melville (Mel) Edward (August 27, 1943 – January 16, 2023)</p><p><br></p><p> It is with sadness that we the family announce the sudden passing of our much-loved father, Melville (‘Mel’) Edward Gohm, of Courtland, at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on January 16th, 2023, at the age of 79. Born in Sudbury, son of the late Herbert Gohm and late Frances (Brear) Gohm. Mel loved and cared a great deal for his family. Recently, Mel grieved the loss of his much-loved wife Linda (Trickett) Gohm (July 10th, 2022), after 55 years of marriage. Lovingly remembered by his children: John Gohm, of Cortlea (RR3 Delhi) and Rick (Sandra) Gohm, of Courtland. Grandfather to: Josh (Alexandria), Tyler (Ren Carson), Autumn (Dalton Wall), Kyle (Sky Nevill), Kelvin (Paige Brown). Great-grandfather to: Juniper Mae and by a special little girl Linda Marie. Also survived by his extended family Robert Howson (Kim), grandchildren Ashley (Jeff Wulleman), Brandi (Randy Jacobs) and by great-grandchildren Avalea, Charlie, and Abby and Cole. Also survived by his brother Allan (Barb), by his brother-in-law: Randy Porter and sisters -in-law Barb Trickett, Carol Trickett, as well as by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers Archie and David, sister Francine Porter, brothers-in-law Wray Trickett, Bob Trickett, Keith Trickett and Bob Swick, sisters-in-law Jean Swick, Brenda Chegahno and Betty Trickett.</p><p><br></p><p> Mel was an employee of Superior Propane, working for much of his career at their Courtland and Aylmer locations for over 20 years, then finished his working career at Trackless Vehicles in Courtland.</p><p>In keeping with Mel’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private immediate family graveside service will be held in the Fairview Cemetery, 1034 Concession Road 2, Port Rowan, by Pastor John Twinem.</p><p><br></p><p> Friends and relatives will be welcomed to attend a Celebration of Mel’s Life, to be announced at a later date. Everyone who knew Mel is invited to share favourite photos, letters of condolence, or contribute memorial donations to the “Heart and Stroke Foundation” or to “Canadian Diabetes Association” or to the “Alzheimer Society”, via Mel’s online tribute page at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com or by contacting the Maurice J.
