Paul Irvin Combs, 57, of Berea, died suddenly Sunday, November 12, 2017 at St. Joseph Hospital-Main, Lexington of complication following a heart attack. He was a Hazard, Kentucky (Perry County) native born December 27, 1959, son of the late Dilce and Euna Lamb Combs, self employed home construction worker, specializing in painting and laying carpet. Paul was an Honorable Kentucky Colonel, an amazing athlete having run in numerous marathons, played soft ball and basketball, and was a member of the Holiness Faith. Survivors include 5 siblings, Billy Embree, Dale Embree, Wayne Combs, Oscar Combs, Betty Rothermel; sister-in-law, Eula Crane Combs; 9 nieces and nephews, Regina (James) White, Robin Combs, Phillip Combs, Scott Boswell, Amanda Windfield, Josh Rothermel, Michael Rothermel, Tyler Combs, Ryan Combs; and 6 great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his parent he was preceded in death by 4 siblings, Donald Ray Combs, Dilce "Junebug" Combs, Mary Jane Combs, and Bobby Lee Combs. In accordance with Paul's wishes, he was cremated. A Remembrance Gathering for Family and Friends will be held from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Reppert Funeral Home.
