Milton Alfred Glass, Jr.

Milton Alfred "Al" Glass, Jr., of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2017. He grew up in Hopewell, Virginia, attended East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina where he played football and obtained a Bachelor and Master of Science Degrees in Mathematics. Al had a passion for mathematics which he viewed as puzzles waiting to be solved and was an avid reader of math text books, economics and the sciences. Al also served in the United States Army in Washington D.C. He retired in 2011 from the Newport News Shipyards where he was employed as a computer programmer for 26 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Milton Alfred Glass, Sr., and Katie Augusta Drake Glass, and his brother, George Randolph Glass. He is survived by his sister, Patricia Glass Allen, and her husband, Russell Earl Allen, of Montpelier, Virginia. His nieces, Kaitlyn Allen Mullen of Bar Harbor, Maine, Wendy Glass Scavone of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Sandra Corey Glass Wilkinson of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, Mary Catherine Glass Houser of Moyock, North Carolina and his nephews, Fletcher Earl Allen of Chesterfield, Virginia and Matthew Randolph Glass of Virginia Beach, Virginia. His sister-in-law, Mary Poole Glass, of Virginia Beach, Virginia also survived him along with his great-nieces, Lauren Marie Johnson, Casey Nicole Scavone and his great-nephew, Dylan Richard Scavone, all of Virginia Beach, Virginia. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, Virginia Beach, Virginia.
