William Joseph Twitty, Sr. Obituary

William Joseph “Joey” Twitty, Sr., age 66, of Cassatt SC, passed away, Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at his home. He had been battling several health problems for many years. He was diagnosed with diabetes early in life and had to work hard to stay in good health. In God’s perfect timing, the Lord called him home to Heaven where he is no longer suffering and has been made completely whole!

Joey loved his family deeply and enjoyed spending time with them. He had many talents including playing the guitar and singing. Earlier in life he enjoyed finishing and working in his shop and making toys for his grandchildren. He was a believer in Jesus Christ and the Bible. There was a time in his life when he felt called to serve the Lord in a deeper way. His work career involved being a craftsman and working as a supervisor at various jobs. He learned a good work ethic from watching his father, Francis on many occasions. He loved to cook and fix special salads to help maintain his weight. Joey will be missed by young and old. He had many friends who loved him. Any donations are encouraged to go to the Diabetes Association.

He is survived by his son, William Joseph Twitty, Jr. and his fiancé, Amanda of Cassatt, SC; his daughter, Amanda Twitty of Camden, SC., parents, Francis and Myrtis Jolene Sullivan Twitty of Rock Hill, SC; siblings, Cindy Darlene Twitty, Tony Warren Twitty (Sylvie), Larry Wayne Twitty (Ann), Danny Calvin Twitty (Carrie); 2 grandsons; 3 granddaughters, and several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Minor and Madge Sullivan, Frank and Onnie Belle Twitty, and many aunts and uncles.

The family will receive friends, Friday, January 13, 2023, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Baker Conference Center, 105 North Minor Street, Kershaw, S.C. 29067.

A funeral service will follow the visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the Conference Center. Rev. Dr. Larry Twitty will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery.
