With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Richard J Clarke Jr, 72, on December 13, 2022.
Richard was born in New York City on March 7, 1950, the youngest child of Richard J Clarke Sr and Elizabeth (Coll). He is pre-deceased by his three sisters: Elizabeth Dudeck, Patricia, and Richadene MacNeil.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Claire (Olwell) and their three children: Christina Kennedy and her husband, Ric, Richard C and his wife, Ashley, and Patrick John and his wife, Pam and son Loki, and his three grandsons, (Rich & Ashley’s children) Braxton, Lincoln and Tyson Clarke.
Richard grew up in the Marble Hill section of New York City, attending St John’s – Kingsbridge grade school, DeWitt Clinton High School and earned his BS at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY.
He proudly served in the US NAVY Reserves for six years and was aboard the USS Norris.
His career spanned 40 years in the communications industry, starting at New York Telephone to AT&T to Lucent Technologies to Avaya, from which he retired.
Richard was a loving husband and father, who took great pride in his family and a devoted grandfather to his beloved “BLT Boys”, Braxton, Lincoln and Tyson.
He is already sorely missed by his family, his many friends, his nieces and nephews and all who knew him. MAY HE REST IN PEACE
Richard’s Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 10:30am, at Our Saviour Catholic Church, Cocoa Beach, Florida.
He will be laid to rest at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on January 24, 2023 at 1pm.
