Funeral service for Mr. George P. Bonds, 85 of Anniston, will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 13, 2023, at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Johnson and Rev. Glenn Bonds will be officiating. Entombment will follow the service in the Mausoleum of Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until time of the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Bonds passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Anniston Health and Rehab.

He leaves behind his wife, Marianne Bonds; children, Perry D. Bonds (Andrea), Michael Bonds (Peggy), Steve Bonds (Julieann), and his stepson, Steve Johnson (Julie); grandchildren, Chris Smith (Kayce), Derrick Smith, Foster Bonds (Romina), Jordin Lance (Steven), J. Foster Bonds (Madeline), Kai Bonds (Lexy), Trent Johnson (Andreah), Amberele Upton (Jon); great grandchildren, Trip Lane, Pennie Lane, Alyssiana Bonds, Obadiah Upton, Genesis Upton, and Remembrance Upton.

Mr. Bonds was retired from the National Guard. He worked and retired from the Civil Service at Fort McClellan. He also retired as a firefighter at Fort McClellan. He was a member of Cheaha Baptist Church in Oxford. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed.
