Jacqueline Ruth Craig Obituary

We are sad to announce Jacqueline “Jackie” Ruth (Eickholt) Craig of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully on Saturday January 7th, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 7th, 1931, to Cleo and Loretta Eickholt. She was preceded in death by both her parents, her sister Lois, brother-in-law James Carr and close friend James Beatty.

She is survived by her three children: Jane (Dennis) Mathias, Julie Craig-Schabel and James Craig, her eleven grandchildren, her many nieces and nephews as well as James Beatty’s daughters Anne and Martha.

Jacqueline graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1950, later married James Wesley Craig. She became an independent single mother and worked hard for her children with a work history of thirty-five years. She worked for Sugarman’s Pharmacy, I.G.A. and retired from the Lucas County Clerk of Courts.

Jacqueline was a wonderful woman; she was beautiful inside and out. She was a devoted mother and grandmother with a good sense of humor. Jacqueline had a very quick wit, she was sharp and sweet. She always remembered the people who passed through her life, would engage in great conversation and made them feel special and welcomed. Her love was endless and unconditional. She especially loved all her grandchildren. There were many shared family times with Lois and Jim and all the children. Jacqueline never missed going to the lake with her grandchildren.

We are so grateful to have had her in our lives. She will always be carried in our hearts.

The family will receive friends and relatives at The Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd at Byrne Rd Thursday January 12, 2023, from 4-8 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Friday January 13, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place in Resurrection Cemetery. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Central Catholic High School. Condolences to the family can be sent to the family at Berstickerscottfuneralhome.com
