Wewoka resident Mary Lois Criswell entered into rest Wednesday April 20th, 2010 in Tyler Tx. at the age of 99. <br /><br />Mary Lois was born January 15th, 1911 in Hartford Arkansas to Jim and Luella Patterson. Mary Lois Criswell moved to Wewoka in 1918 and attended and graduated Wewoka High School. She attended Ward Belmont College in Nashville Tn, and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Oklahoma and later attended Graduate School at the University of Colorado. <br /><br />Mary Lois married her husband Jack Criswell in 1935 and they owned and operated Criswell Insurance agency in Wewoka. Jack proceeds her in death along with her parents, two brothers and a son. <br /><br />Mary Lois joined then Wewoka Methodist Church in 1923 and taught Sunday School Classes and Vacation Bible School and served as Church Librarian. <br /><br />She was a School Teacher at Wewoka Public Schools for 25 years, a member of The American Association of University Women, United Methodist Women, Wewoka Sewing Club, Wewoka Bible Study Club, and Jonquil Flower Club.<br /><br />Mary Lois is survived by her son Tom and wife Mary Criswell of Tyler, Texas, daughter, Pamela Schmitz of Mustang Oklahoma, son Michael Criswell of Holdenville, grandchildren Troy Criswell and Brandon Criswell of Tyler, Texas, Valerie Jones of Pasadona Texas, and Robby Criswell of Talihina Oklahoma and several great grandchildren and one great great grandson. <br /><br />Graveside services will be Saturday 10:00a.m. Oakwood Cemetery Wewoka Oklahoma <br />with Amanda B.P.
