Moochie received her early education at Levi J. Coppin Elementary School, in Cecilton, Maryland, where she graduated 6th grade. She also attended the Cecil County Black Public School- George Washington Carver, Elkton, Maryland.

Melvina then became a detailed and meticulous person which was evident by how she dressed. She loved fashion, hats, etc.

Melvina married the love of her life, Harold “Joe Boy” Jenkins on December 3. They raised several nieces and nephews. They both took special care of their niece, Angelica “Pumpkin” Wesley, whom they considered their adopted daughter.

Melvina was employed by McDonalds in Wilmington, Delaware, as a manager for 7 years. She was also a Domestic Worker.

Melvina was a faithful servant of the Lord. She was a dedicated member of Rehoboth Church of God in Christ Jesus Apostolic, in Middletown, Delaware. She loved praising the Lord especially when she began shouting giving God all the praises. Her favorite hymns were “Something About the Name Jesus” (by Rance Allen) and “I Won’t Complain”.

Melvina loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She took every opportunity to be with her family- every holiday, every birthday, and just because. She was an avid storyteller. She brought much laughter to her family and friends. She loved traveling, dancing, cooking, especially reading God’s Word and quoting scriptures.
