<p>Mary Lynn Bales, 88, of Morristown, entered peacefully into her Heavenly Home on January 1, 2023, at Regency Retirement Village in Morristown.&nbsp;&nbsp;She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Isabel Shaver, as well as five brothers and one sister.&nbsp;&nbsp;She is survived by her husband of 64 years, William W. Bales, sons, Joe (Valerie) Bales, Thom (Karin) Bales, and daughter, Mary Ann (Tom) Rush, grandchildren, Caty (Robbie) Palmer, Ben Rush, Lauren Bales, Will Bales, and Theodore Bales.&nbsp;&nbsp;She also leaves behind Missy, her Australian Shepherd. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>Mary Lynn graduated from Morristown High School in 1952 and East Tennessee State University in 1957.&nbsp;&nbsp;She devoted her life to caring for her children and grandchildren as well as involvement in many community activities.&nbsp;&nbsp;She was actively involved in GFWC Ladies Reading Circle, Hamblen County Farm Bureau Women, Girls Inc., Morristown-Hamblen High School Alumni, Senior Citizens Center, Central Services, and was a Hamblen County 4-H Volunteer Leader.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;She was active in the First Presbyterian Church of Morristown.&nbsp;&nbsp;Mary Lynn was also honored as being Morristown’s First Lady. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to the staff at Regency Retirement Village Memory Care and the staff of CARIS Healthcare for their compassion and care during Mary Lynn’s time at her “home away from home.” </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>Graveside Services will be held at Noon, Thursday, January 5, 2023, in Historic Bethesda Cemetery with Rev. Sam Schaus officiating.&nbsp;&nbsp;The family will hold private funeral services prior to interment.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to First Presbyterian Church, 600 West Main Street, Morristown, TN&nbsp;&nbsp;37814. </p><p>&nbsp; </p>

Mary Lynn Bales, 88, of Morristown, entered peacefully into her Heavenly Home on January 1, 2023, at Regency Retirement Village in Morristown.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Isabel Shaver, as well as five brothers and one sister.  She is survived by her husband of 64 years, William W.
