Arthur Douglas Zanders, 68, of Cameron died November 21, 2022 in a Temple VA facility. Memorial services will be 11:00 am Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Chapel. Entombment will be 11:00 am Monday, January 30, 2023 at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery Mausoleum.

Mr. Zanders, known mostly as Doug, was born July 4, 1954 in Austin to Arthur Henry and Nancy Frances (Reveile) Zanders. In 1971 he enlisted in the US Navy, during Vietnam serving aboard the USS Enterprise. After serving his country He came home and started his lifelong career as an over-the-road truck driver, which he did for 47 years. In May of 2015, he asked Cindy to join him out on the road. After a few short weeks they were married on June 27, 2015 and renewing their vows again on June 27, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, a brother, 2 sisters, and 1 child.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Zanders, 8 children, 22 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, 1 sister and numerous other relatives and friends.
