Randle Earl Doty, 69 of Carrier Mills passed away at 4:05 a.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2022 in Shawnee Senior Living Center in Herrin, Illinois.

Randy was born on June 20, 1953 in Harrisburg, to the late Randall and Margueriete (Williams) Doty. He married the former Amie Brasher on May 16, 1992.

Randy was a 1971 graduate of Harrisburg High School. Randy was a Family Nurse Practitioner who served many patients.

Before Randy’s health declined, he was very active as a member and lay leader at the First United Methodist Church in Carrier Mills. He was a Master Mason, Ainad Shriner and 43 year member of Carrier Mills Masonic Lodge #458. He also served several years on the Carrier Mills- Stonefort School Board, some of that time serving as President.

Randy was a devoted husband, and loving father and grandfather. Randy was survived by his wife, Amie, two daughters: Sarah (Fred) Doty of Herrin & Hannah Doty of Carrier Mills, three sons: Brian (Ashley) Doty of Murphysboro,IL, Braden (Kennedy) Doty of McLeansboro, & Conner Doty of Carrier Mills, and grandchildren: Donte, Darnel, Joshua, Eliot and Elliot. Randy is also survived by a brother, Robert (Julianne) Doty of Herrin, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 infant brothers.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 30 at Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 31, 2022 at the Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home with Rev. Stan Irvin officiating.  Burial will follow in the Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg, IL. For those who wish, memorials can be made in his memory to the Carrier Mills First United Methodist Church.
