Ross Edward Bruny passed away on December 16, 2022 at the age of 91.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Jack and Tom, sister Nancy Henderson and his Wife Nancy of 65 years of marriage.

Ross is survived by his children Jeff (Kim) Bruny and Karen Bruny; his grandchildren Kayleen (Bruce) Malcolm and Kyle (Mindy) Bruny; and his great-grandchildren Solomon, Glory, Caleb and Kaden.

Ross was born on February 16, 1931 in West Virginia.  He grew up in the areas of Moundsville, WV and Beaver Falls, PA.  He moved to Wyoming at the age of 18 and began his career at Mountain Bell before joining the Air Force in February of 1951.   While in the Air Force he met and married Nancy Elaine Branner of Timberville, VA in 1952.  Ross honorably served in the United States Air Force before being discharged as a Staff Sergeant in February of 1955.

During Ross’s life he and Nancy lived throughout Wyoming, Oklahoma, Virginia and New Jersey spending the last 52 years in Northglenn, CO.  In 1986 Ross retired from the phone company with over 36 years of service.  His career was spread out between Mountain Bell, AT&T and US West.

After retiring Ross stayed busy in many ways, he was always there to help and volunteer.  He was a very good handy man and enjoyed assisting friends and family with any and all projects.  He also was an active member of CPAAAN (Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association of Northglenn) for 20 years.  He made many friendships that continue.  He received several awards and recognition for his volunteer efforts with CPAAAN.

Ross enjoyed wood working, making many pieces of furniture over the years.  He tried his hand at making jewelry, primarily using silver and turquoise and made many beautiful pieces.   He also enjoyed playing cards; whether it was Bridge, Pinochle, Cribbage or many others games, he was always ready to play a game of cards.  Ross was someone who met everyone with a smile and in most instances a joke he had stored in his archive of jokes in his memory.  He loved to make people smile and laugh and be the center of attention.  Ross loved his family and will be missed.

A  Celebration of Ross’s life will be held on Saturday, February 25th at 2 pm at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 9998 Grant Street, Thornton, Colorado.
