Michael (Mike) S. Baumann, Sr. – age 70 of Fairfield, Ohio, passed away Wednesday evening, December 21, 2022.  Mike was born June 22, 1952 in Hamilton, Ohio to the late Robert and Jacquelyn (Brune) Baumann.  He graduated from Stephen T. Badin High School in 1970 and attended Miami University.  On January 25, 1975 in Hamilton, Ohio, he married Karen O’Donnell and they enjoyed 47 years together.  After a brief employment behind a desk, Mike discovered his love for driving, gift of gab and the fact that he never met a stranger and was meant for a career in sales.  Mike was described by his brother-in-law John as loving anything with ears.  He worked in sales for over 40 years, most recently for Murphy Supply, Inc., having to retire in 2015 because of his illness.  Mike was a member of Sacred Heart Church where he served in the usher’s ministry for over 40 years also retiring in 2015 due to the advancement of early onset dementia.  Mike was a 3rd degree member of Knights of Columbus #968.  He was an avid Reds fan, loved working in his garage and spending time at the lake with the many boats he owned throughout the years.  Mike is survived by his wife Karen, a son Michael Jr. (Katie), and 2 grandsons Dylan and Ryder who continued to bring a smile to his face even in the advanced stages of his disease.  Mike is also survived by 4 sisters, Catherine Mense, Patricia (Gregg) Oppenheim, Judith Matanguihan and Mary (Del) Beal, a brother-in-law John P. O’Donnell, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Anne.  A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 400 Nilles Rd., Fairfield, Ohio, 45014.  Family will receive visitors one hour prior to Mass at the church.  His wife would like to offer special thanks to Cathy, John and friends Dennis and Diana whom without their help Mike would not have been able to spend his final years at home.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Stephen T.
